How to shoot FIREWORKS DISPLAY lights

Goodmorning fellow hobbyists!

want to know how to shoot FIREWORKS DISPLAY lighting? here's how.

Just a little reminder, this is how I did it. I'm not saying that this is the right thing/procedure to do. I would suggest that you do play with your techniques to explore more... remember: walang bagay sa mundong ito ang hindi napapag-aralan. c",)

PROPER GEARS:
Camera (of course!)
Lens (Kitlens will do, but if you have an UWA [Ultra Wide Angle] lens... that is for the WIN!!!)
Lens Hood
Fully charged batteries (much better to have batt grip with 2 fully charged batteries, kasi malakas magconsume ng batt yung ganitong shoot kasi matagal na nagoopen yung shutter and plus shoot ka ng shoot *this will be explained later*)
Sturdy Tripod
Remote Shutter Release (much better if it is wireless)

SETTINGS:
Shutter Speed: BULB
APERTURE: F/10 or F/11
LENS: Should be on MANUAL mode, VR: On
CAMERA: Manual mode *bear with me... manual talaga ako mag-shoot. kung kaya nyo iset sa ibang program, diskarte nyo na...*

PROCEDURE:
1. Of course set your equipments.
2. Double check the tripod locks to ensure stability.
3. Set the CAMERA program option to manual then manually turn the APERTURE adjustment up to f/11 or 10 atleast. sa shoot ko I used f/10.

why?: mas madali kasi sakin mag-adjust ng light to dark than dark to light.

4. set the white balance to AUTO.
5. Set the LENS to manual.

WHY MANUAL: ganito kasi yan... pag naka AF ka, since madilim ang paligid and mejo malayo yung subject although magliliwanag naman sha.. may tendency na hinid magfo-focus yung lente.

6. Set the SS'" to BULB

WHY BULB?: para pitik ka nalang ng pitik using of course your WIRELESS REMOTE SHUTTER RELEASE
WHY WIRELESS?: kasi pag wired yung remote shutter mo, may tendency na magalaw yung camera, ang result, magkaka-curl yung ligh trails na macacapture mo sa fireworks.

TIP: sa ganitong klaseng shoot ang diskarte to use the REMOTE SHUTTER, dapat at least 2-3 seconds ang pagpindot pabalik to close the shutter. When I did this, pagka-pitik ko to open the shutter, i am snapping my fingers 1, 2, 3, sabay pitik ulit to close the shutter. Why? para hindi mashadong mahabng Light na guhit ang macapture ni LENS. Remember: di mo kailangang i-long expose ang pagsshoot ng ganito... dapat SLOW SHUTTER lang, hindi LONG.

TECHNIQUE: Here is the main technique para makakuha ka ng magandang shot ng fireworks.

Since naka-MANUAL ka sa lente, there is posibility na yung pagkaka-focus mo ng subject is mejo malabo. ang technique is to manually aim at a sample subject with the same distance (approximately) sa area ng fireworks site. Sa shoot ko, I used my cellphone backlight para makapag-focus ako ng sharper than the AUTO-FOCUS. Pwede kasi na gamitin mo yung AUTO-FOCUS then press AF-L to lock the focus from the AF function then set it to manual. minsan kasi kahit naka-auto ang effect mejo blurred pa rin.

HOW DID YOU DO IT USING YOUR CELLPHONE?: Here's how...
1. Aim the camera at the fireworks site
2. Look fiercly on the fireworks site from the VIEW FINDER
3. Pailawin mo yung cellphone mo by pressing any keys... Basta importante mag-ilaw yung cellphone
4. Place the lighted cellphone to the view of the fireworks site. Pagpalagay mo na ang fireworks eh yung cellphone backlight mo.
5. Adjust the lens focus according to your preference... Then shoot!!!

TIP: Once nakuha nyo na yung tamang preferred focus nyo, wag nyo nang galawin yung focus ng lente. kung need nyo umulit ng pwesto, ayan. dapat ulitin nyo kung pano mag-focus sa sample subject... ika nga nila... IWASIWAS ANG CELLPHONE NA MAY ILAW! :D

1. Introduce yourself to the guy at the next urinal.

2. Turn the light off while stalls are occupied.

3. Order a pizza. (This works great in bars that allow outside food deliveries. Call back the pizza parlor thirty minutes after you place your order, giving them plenty of time to start delivering the pizza, and tell them you can be found in the last stall in the men's bathroom. Refuse to leave until you get your pizza.)

4. Stick your head over an occupied stall and ask for the time.

5. Tell people that they're on TV. Point to some random spot on the far wall and ask them to "smile for the camera".

6. Lie down across all the sinks and pretend to be passed out.

7. Use a stopwatch to time people going to the bathroom. Cheer them on to encourage good performance.

8. Hold your hand in front of a hand dryer while someone's using it.

9. Pour a bucket of water over an occupied stall.

10. Grab someone's ass really hard while they're using a urinal, and see how far you can get before they catch you.

11. Guard the paper towel dispenser in the name of the Earth Liberation Front.

12. Say to the guy at the next urinal: "This is the best part about being gay."

13. Say, "Huh, that's funny. I don't remember eating asparagus."

14. Turn off the faucet while someone's washing their hands. Repeat.

15. Pee on someone's leg and tell them it's raining.

16. Offer to blow-dry other people's hands with your mouth to save energy.

17. Point at someone's crotch while they're using a urinal and yell, "Ha ha, your fly is down!"

18. Put on a hand puppet show underneath the stall next to you.

19. Complain about the size of your penis.

20. While inside the bathroom, ask where the nearest bathroom is. After you've received a puzzled look or response, reply, "I'm not looking for a toilet, you moron, I'm looking for a bathroom. Haven't you ever taken a bath? Apparently not. No wonder it smells like shit in here."

21. Demand to know where the glory holes are.

22. Walk up behind someone who's using a urinal and wrap his head in toilet paper.

23. Ask a friend to help you stage a live audio performance of a violent mugging for your unwitting audience inside the stalls. Make sure the final line of dialogue is, "You come out of there and I'll blow your fucking head off."

24. Inside a stall, pretend to be talking to a young child, "That's right Johnny, remember what I told you about unzipping your fly? Oh, now look what you did!" Then slap your hands twice and make crying noises.

25. Hang a realistic dummy from a noose inside one of the stalls as a wacky surprise for the next visitor.

26. Knock on the stall next to you and say, "Do you have enough toilet paper in there? I got plenty if you need some."

27. Put up a sign above the sink that says "Did you remember to wipe?"

28. Put up a sign that says, "This is the legally required 'Employees must wash hands' sign which we disregard on a daily basis."

29. Put up a sign that says "Caution: please do not use toilets."

30. Fill the liquid soap containers with motor oil.

31. Have (mobile) phone sex while standing at a urinal.

32. Smear peanut butter on a piece of toilet paper, drop it between stalls, and curse yourself for being clumsy.

33. Flash people standing just outside the bathroom door. Tell them that you've finally "found the loophole".

34. Pump soap for people, give out paper towels, and demand tips.

35. Wear a camera around your neck and offer to take people's photos for money.

36. When the bathroom is empty, get down on your hands and knees and hold your face over one of the urinals. Wait in that position until someone enters the bathroom. Act as if you're embarrassed to be caught.

37. See how long you can do a raspberry inside one of the stalls before someone asks you if you're alright.

38. Whisper, "Now spread your legs, honey. Oh yeah, that's it."

39. Drop a small, unclothed, plastic baby doll in a toilet, along with an ample supply of red food coloring.

40. Identify people who have not washed their hands. Follow them out of the bathroom and publicly announce this fact.

41. Congratulate yourself aloud on a job well done.

Is It Me?

For the past year, I've been following the saying "Never let your guard down, especially your emotion, for it will destroy you"

But now, I think I have let my guard down because of a certain person.
Most of my closest friends know me as a punk ass, hard headed, "Palaaway" type of guy. That was their assessment of my personality.

But, is that who I really am? Even I don't know..
I also think before that I am that kind of person who don't think and care for anyone.

Work-related, I was able to behave for the past 6 months. I was able to focus my energy to be more productive on my work. But on a personal basis, there are times that I still feel the urge to kick some punk out there.

Is t me? Is it because of the Environment that I grew up with? Is is my family? I DON'T KNOW..

The only thing that I know now is that I'm beginning to change my thinking. Before, I do not believe in the emotion called LOVE. For it only brings hatred to me. But I finally found out that I hate myself, not that emotion.

I'm now starting to see the beautiful things around me that I care less about before.

My colleagues and managers now noticed the things that I am contributing to my work. My friends starting to notice my new attitude towards life.. And most of all... HINDI AKO NAGLASLAS FOR THE PAST 1 YEAR AND 2 MONTHS!!!!!

I just with that this cloud that I am in will last for a long time. I should motivate myself even more to be a better person...

Old Magnolia Ice Cream House Dinemolish Na!

I was on my way home last Tuesday on LRT purple line. Upon passing the old Magnolia Ice Cream House, nakita ko na dinedemolish na ito nga crane.

Nalulungkot ako kasi naging bahagi ito ng aking kabataan. We usually go here sometimes during Christmas break or there's a simple occassion like birthdays. After eating at the ice cream parlor, maglalaro na kami sa labas dahil may playground at pag minsan pwede ka pa sumakay sa life size na toy train.

I will miss the ice cream house definitely. Hopefully, Nestle will build something na pwedeng pumalit sa lumang building that will make children feel the way we did in our times. Sabagay marami ng ibang pasyalan ang mga bata nowadays and most of them do not have time to go out and play.

Google will no longer support IE6!!

Starting March 1, 2010, Google will stop supporting IE6. They are suggesting to web users should upgrade to IE7 or Google Chrome.

From Google official statement:

Many other companies have already stopped supporting older browsers like Internet Explorer 6.0 as well as browsers that are not supported by their own manufacturers. We’re also going to begin phasing out our support, starting with Google Docs and Google Sites. As a result you may find that from March 1 key functionality within these products -- as well as new Docs and Sites features -- won’t work properly in older browsers.

Nagulat ako kani-kanina ng pagsilip ko sa newly created and talk of the town na blogsite ay biglang blocked! OMG! Ar you sure????? The site created to prevent email spams ay blocked! Ang website na minahal na ng bayan at nakarating na sa facebook ay mukang napagdiskitahan at nilagay sa classification as games. Is this for real? The blogsite that will lessen the stress of people and will also lessen the email thread is blocked!

The term comes from the Japanese word boke (暈け or ボケ), which means "blur" or "haze", or boke-aji (ボケ味), the "blur quality". The Japanese term boke is also used in the sense of a mental haze or senility

The English spelling bokeh was popularized in 1997 in Photo Techniques magazine, when Mike Johnston, the editor at the time, commissioned three papers on the topic for the March/April 1997 issue; he altered the spelling to suggest the correct pronunciation to English speakers, saying "it is properly pronounced with bo as in bone and ke as in Kenneth, with equal stress on either syllable".

Fun Day with Team Bravo, Team Echo and Filip Sabio

February 6, 2010.. The date that should've been the reunion of Team Echo.... until Team Bravo appears!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Around 12:30PM, nagkaayaan na sumama ng Team Bravo sa bowling ng Echo. Mcdo, Jeff, Gelo, Kem, Jack, Andrew, and syempre ako ay present. Sa Team Echo, andun sina Khristine, Ivan, Dian, Karen, Monch at Kimi. Kasama din namin si Myk, HL at syempre the MAESTRO, Filip Sabio.

Nung una, dapat kasama si Monroe, ngunit s hindi inaasahang pangyayari, kelangan nyang umalis. Kumain muna kami ng Bravo sa McDonald's sa Eastwood Mall. Masayang nagkukuwentuhan ang lahat habang pinagusapan ang plano sa pagpunta s Puerto Gallera.

Pagkatapos kumain, dumiretso na kami sa Paeng's upang magbowling. Sa aming pagdating, si Ivan, Myk at Dian pa lang ang nandoon. Konting kwentuhan, yosi.. Nagbilliards muna sina Kem at Jack habang naghihintay ng iba pa naming kasama.

Around 1:30PM, nagyaya na magbowling si Merck. Masaya ang lahat. Pinagtripan ko pa ang mga pangalan nila sa monitor dahil sabi ko dapat may KANTO din sa pangalan nila.

Mga 2:30PM ng dumating ang pinakahihintay ng lahat, si Filip Sabio. Buti na lang hindi ko sinuot yung TShirt ko na MASAMANG IMPLUWENSYA gahil yun ang suot ni Filip.

Naging masaya ang lahat. Ilang minuto pa lamang ang nakakalipas ay nagpaalam na si Merck, Jeff at Gelo na uuwi na.. :(

3:30PM, wala pa din sina Neeche at Anna Maranan. Dahil s sobrang kaantukan at may lakad pa kami ni ermats, nagpaalam na ako s grupo...
